Wilbert P. Bigney ll passed away on August 4, 2022 at 06:11 am at the age of 64 In Lawton, OK. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage and strength in facing life challenges, with a smile and a positive attitude. Despite all the pain, Wilbert stayed strong until the end.
Wilbert was born in Aliquippa, PA on 11/12/1957 to parents J. Vernon Sr & Frances L. Bigney. He had a brother and 4 sisters, 2 of whom have preceded him in death Chris Sturm & Terrylynn Frizzina. He is survived by his older brother,Vernon J. Bigney, and 2 sisters, Tammy Jean Wooder & Mary McElhaney.
On July 29, 1979, Wilbert married Danielle Papala in Waubeka Wisconsin.
Wilbert served 13 years in the United States Army. He then went into Commercial over the road truck driving with an awesome company called Bonus Transportation out of Florida. He worked 20 plus years for them, driving all 50 States. During that time he bought his own 18 wheeler which was named "Papa's pit crew"
Wilbert had four daughters, Pamela, April, Marie, and Tiffany, and had 10 grandkids, between all his daughters, who meant the world to him.
During his last year of life he was extremely close with his daughter, April Knightstep, and her wife, Cecile Knightstep, who he saw as a daughter, his grandsons, Joseph Mellott and Sabashtian Loza, his sister, Mary, and her husband, Sunny, and his wife Danielle.
They all took shifts taking amazing care of him in which they made new memories with him, and remembered old times together.
Wilbert lived an amazing life. He had a huge heart and would help any and everyone in need. He will be greatly missed and heaven gained a beautiful soul.
He will be cremated in Oklahoma City, OK. His daughter, April, will do a celebration of life later this month.
