Stephen Howard Pelfrey, 58 years of age, and a resident of Oklahoma City, passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2020, at his home.
He was born, May 2, 1962, in Elyria, Ohio. Steve attended Elyria High School and graduated with the class of 1980. He worked for his family's business, Northwest Vending, throughout high school. Shortly after graduation, He enlisted and served in the United States Airforce. He was stationed in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where he chose to stay upon discharge.
He attained his certifications in refrigeration and cooling repair of commercial appliances. He spent the bulk of his career working in the vending industry servicing vending machines and refrigeration systems in restaurants.
Steve enjoyed listening to music, watching football, and cuddling with his dogs. He had a "sweet tooth" and loved to eat home-baked cookies. He resided with his long time companion, Judy Strickland.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gene Pelfrey of Banning California, and Barbara Casica (nee: Coates) of Elyria Ohio; and many other relatives.
Survivors include his sister Jacqueline (Robert) Chappo (nee: Pelfrey ) of Lorain, Ohio; his brother G. Andrew Pelfrey of Auburndale, Florida; and several nieces, and other relatives. Steve is also survived by his ex-wife Sharon Pelfrey (nee: Hughes); and their daughters Jennifer, Jessica, and Brittany Pelfrey whom he regrettably was estranged from; and many grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by Alternatives Cremation and Funeral Service serving Southwest Oklahoma. A private family memorial will be held at a later date in Lorain, Ohio.
