Morris West Amos III was born August 1st, 1968 in California. He learned how to cut hair at the Hollywood Cosmetology Center in Norman, OK. He loved helping others look their best. He also LOVED music, he loved listening, writing, and making music. He would collect guitars, rebuild, or create a new one. He enjoyed going to clubs and meeting the performers. He had a great many friends who loved and cared for him. Even though he could be a jerk, he was also the one person you wanted in your corner. He accepted others as they are as a person. He would judge you on how you were, not how society thinks you should be. He was a rare person and will sorely missed.
He died unexpectedly from a heart attack on Oct 14th, 2020, while he was trying to move into a smaller storage. I don’t think he knew that he was in trouble, so please honor my brother by getting yourself checked out.
His loss has devastated his Mother Frances Burger of OKC. He leaves behind his kids: Zoe Smith of OKC, Maddox Amos, Whitley Amos and Phoenix Amos of Bailey, CO. He had 3 older sisters and 1 younger brother. Alma Grogan of Tuttle, OK with husband Dave Grogan, Roberta VanDyke of OKC and Randy VanDyke, Arlene Amos of Norman, OK and William Amos of OKC. He had a dozen nieces and nephews (and their husbands and wives), and six great nieces and great nephews. He has 3Aunts on his Fathers side: Ellen Jones of Blanchard, Armetta Looney of Davis, OK and Arnetta Amos of OKC. Multiple cousins who were more like more brothers and sisters.
Morris’s life will be celebrated on Saturday Oct. 24th, 2020 at the Jesus Alive Evangelistic Church at 1301 N Main St, Newcastle, OK 73065 at 1 pm. (masks will be required) there will be a potluck lunch after the service. Please join us with stories (nice ones, not to scandalous) and help us celebrate his crazy (too short) life.
