Obituary

Michael Ray Phillips was born on October 3, 1977 in Kingfisher, Oklahoma. He
died suddenly of a heart attack at the age of 42 on September 5, 2020. Many people
would use the nickname ‘Mike’ or ‘Mikey’ for him.
Michael was called dad, husband, son, brother, nephew, cousin, uncle, and
friend. He enjoyed fishing, mechanics, fixing anything that was broken, hanging
out on the lake, and spending time with his kids and numerous family members. He
grew up in the small town of Crescent, Oklahoma, but moved to Shawnee,
Oklahoma where he thrived. He then met his wife Misty Phillips at Pratt’s Foods in
Shawnee, and had two beautiful kids, Blake and Hailey Phillips. They raised their
kids in Topeka, Kansas until 2014. Mike moved to Sherwood Shores, Texas with
the two kids. There he hung out with his dad, Roy Hawkins, and several siblings
and had grown to love the town. He worked as an engineer at WinStar Casino and
Resort. The last few years of his life he lived with his sister, Kristi Phillips and his
two kids.
Mike is survived by his siblings Kristi Valliquette, Russel Hawkins and his
wife of Missouri, Kyle and Caitlin Hawkins of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Buck
and Katie Smith. His three nieces Sara and Anna Valliquette and Maddi Smith, and
his nephew Braedon Brown. His kids Blake and Hailey Phillips, His wife Misty
Phillips, his brother in law Chris Brown, his step mom Alyce Hawkins and his
adoptive dad, Ron Phillips.
He is preceded in death by his dad Roy Hawkins, his mom Denise Phillips,
his grandpa and grandma Noel and Marilyn Galloway and his niece Emma
Valliquette.
