LEE BURKETT Obituary

Lee Edward Burkett, Sr of Guthrie, OK succumbed to complications of COVID 19 on Dec 31, 2020 at 78 years old. He was born to Charles and Margaret Burkett in Wadsworth, OH on April 21, 1942. He is survived by his wife of 4 years Debbie. His children who he adored, Eddie (Daina) Burkett of Joplin, MO. Angelia (David) Barton of Edmond, OK. Grandchildren Susan (Donnie) Munson, Becky Baker, Tony Barton, Michael (Kirsten) Barton, Daniel (Cheyla) Burkett and Nikki (Ben) Fisher. He also has 13 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter.

Lee will be remembered for his love of hearing the word of God, square dancing, country music, rodeos, bowling and Yosemite Sam . Lee proudly served his country in the Army and would tear up any time he heard the anthem or was thanked for serving his country. Lee was a true patriot. He loved his family fiercely and believed that they could do anything they put their mind too. Anyone who knew him knew his love for OSU! He was a cowboy through and through. There was hardly ever a time you saw him without his trademark hat and cowboy boots.  His favorite bible verse was Matthew 11:28-30.

His family cannot express our thanks for all the hard work and fantastic care he received at the VA in Oklahoma City during his final days.

He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Margaret, his beloved ex-wife Patsey Burkett and infant son Robert Charles.

We will have a memorial service April 17.
