It is with profound sadness that the family announces Jeremy Read Elwell, 44, of Ardmore, passed peacefully Monday June 27, 2022, at Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City.
He was born August 17th, 1977, in Shawnee Mission, Kansas to Leland Read and Betty (Andersen) Elwell.
Jeremy graduated from Butler County Community College in El Dorado, KS with an Associate Degree in Communications. He worked as a manager at the Outback Steakhouse in Wichita, KS, and Tulsa, OK. He studied in Atlanta, GA., and became a Luthier after building three guitars. He moved to Fort Worth where he became store manager at the Guitar Center -a perfect fit for Jeremy. He later transferred to Tucson, AZ., to manage a new store where met and married Amanda Soltis. They shared and loved a beagle named Lemmy.
Jeremy was a loyal and faithful fan to his hometown teams, the Kansas City Chiefs,and the Kansas City Royals. Jeremy was elated to see the Chiefs go to the Super Bowl and win in 2020.Jeremy was also a diehard fan of the Star Wars movies. Everyone that knew Jeremy knows his true love was music. He played guitarsand loved going to concerts with friends to see his favorite bands and met many of them in person. Clutch, Black Label Society, ZZ Top to name a- few.
Jeremy was a sweet, happy soul and will be deeply missed by all his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his mother, brother Ethan Elwell, sister Angela Bunch and husband Russell, nieces and nephews Amber Brown and husband Billy, Bret Elwell and wife Victoria, Brittany Sanders, and Ross Sanders, uncles John Cade and Jim Elwell and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be scheduled in Ardmore, OK in the near future.
