D K “Deke” Dalrymple Jr, 69, passed away Saturday evening January 8, 2022 at the Norman Regional Hospital in Norman, Oklahoma. He was born in Silver Creek, New York on October 15, 1952, the son of the late Donald (Jean) Dalrymple and Gerrianne Griffin.
Deke grew up on his family farm in Western New York, near the small village of Silver Creek. He had a love for farming, building, timber-framing, and machinery (especially tractors and backhoes). He was passionate about nature and considered himself a Heart Warrior, Protector, Provider, and Dreamer.
Deke was a Veteran of the Peacetime and Vietnam Era. He served honorably in the U.S. Air Force (1970-1974; 1978-1979) as a Law Enforcement Specialist and K-9 Handler in California, Guam, Okinawa, Texas, and Thailand.
Deke is survived by his children, a daughter, Sunshine (Simon) Casanova Wright; a son, Griffin (Jamie) Dalrymple; a son, Sky Dalrymple; a son, Bodhi Dalrymple; a son, Sen Dalrymple; a daughter, Anna Rae Dalrymple; a son, Finley Dalrymple; a step-daughter, Ashley Day; a step-son, Jaran Day; a step-daughter, Elsa Finley-Combs; a step-son, Alek Finley-Combs, a sister, Joyce Boedo; a brother, Scott (Jennifer) Dalrymple; six grandchildren; and former spouses, Alissa Finley and Diann Greene.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Pandora Dalrymple; a wife, Deena Muscato-Dalrymple; and step-mother, Jean Dalrymple.
Deke’s family will announce plans for a memorial service at a later date.
