Obituary

Barbara Ellen Moreno passed away Saturday October 17th, 2020 in Norman, Oklahoma. Barbara was born in Anderson SC on August 2, 1934 to Clyde and Lottie Bell

Barbara  loved life.  She was a social butterfly.  She had the gift of gab.  If anyone could find a bargain she could.  She loved playing Bingo, Canasta and Bunko.  She loved her Clemson Tigers and OU Sooners.  She parked cars for 6 ½ years  for OU games, and had faithful customers that came back every year.

She was a Christian and an avid reader of the Word, and Romance novels.

She loved Hallmark.  When in the nursing home, even with dementia she remembered the channel it was on.

She loved her family, especially her grandson, daughter and son in law.

She loved to cook and she always took great care to look the best she could.  She was giving, caring and always eager to help someone out.

She made special occasions and holidays something to celebrate.  My mom made everything so exciting.  She decorated for every holiday.  Our birthdays were amazing.  She loved surprising us.  I would come home from seeing my grandparents in the summer time and she would have school clothes, shoes, lunch box and more laying on the bed as a surprise.

When my son was little he use to think the UPS man was working for Santa year round.  My mom would send care packages all the time for holidays and just because.  She came every summer after my son was born.  She was an amazing grandmother (Nanny as he called her).

Because of Covid-19, I could not visit my mom for 7 months, other than through a glass window and later through a screened window.  It made it very hard on her and I and many others.  It broke my heart that she had to go through this.  So please wear your masks and distance.  The people living in nursing homes are suffering from being lonely and dying from not being able to be social with their families.

Mom, I will miss you so much.  I know we will now have the best guardian angel in heaven.

Love you Mom and Nanny.

 Love, Mitzi, Lloyd and Joel

Special thanks to Medical Park West, nursing, aids and staff and the nurses and staff at Physician’s Choice Hospice.

Mom loved animals.  So in lieu of flowers, please donate to Second Chance Animal Sanctuary in Norman, Okla.
