AUDREY FOWLER Obituary

Audrey Lee Fowler (Lemke), loving wife, mother, grandmother, and devout follower of Christ, passed into the next life in the early hours of Thursday, February 11, 2021 surrounded by her family. She valiantly fought her cruel nemesis of cancer for 4 years and 8 months, and she continued to fight until the very last moment.

Audrey was born June 26, 1957 and grew up in Superior, Nebraska, graduating with the class of 1975 before marrying her high school sweetheart, Robert Fowler, nearly 43 years ago. After working a plethora of jobs and making a few moves back and forth from Superior and Oklahoma City, Audrey and Rob finally settled their roots in a home in Yukon, Oklahoma in 1985. Audrey spent most of her life being the caregiver of someone, whether it was just her husband and their two girls, or the home daycare children that she watched five days a week; caregiver basically became her middle name and her calling. She loved with the fiercest part of her soul, and would do anything to show how much each and every person was meant for greatness. During her spare time, she helped her husband with his inflatable business and enjoyed nice, long cruises together in their 1968 Camaro, guided her oldest daughter in the trials and tribulations of motherhood, challenged her youngest daughter to annual bets on who could read the most books in a year, and played hundreds of games of doghouse with her two grandchildren.

Audrey is preceded in death by her parents Mike and Mildred Lemke of Superior, Nebraska. She is survived by her admiring and ever faithful husband, Robert Fowler; her oldest daughter, Crystal Ponder (Fowler); her youngest daughter, Rebecca Fowler and her fiancé, Ethan Vaughn; her two granddaughters, Chyanne and Cayla Ponder; and her sister, Karen Stortz, and brother, Terry Lemke.

While her family wishes nothing more than to hear her mispronounce words, see her weeding the entire yard every spring, or feel one of her all-encompassing hugs, they know she will forever be looking down and guiding them throughout the rest of their dysfunctional time on earth.

Memorial services will be held at a later time due to the on-going pandemic. In lieu of flowers, please keep her family, friends, and dear daycare children in your thoughts and prayers.
