Bradley George Hitter, of Altus, OK, went to be with The Lord on December 29, 2019, at the age of 66.
Brad was born on July 20, 1953, to John George and Mary Jane (Chisholm) Hitter. He spent his early childhood in Michigan, where he was born. Since childhood, Brad loved animals; especially dogs and horses. As a boy he delivered newspapers on his pony, Apple Dapple. Some of his favorite activities involved mechanics, shooting, hunting, fishing, hiking and simply enjoying nature’s beauty. He carried these hobbies into adulthood and became an avid outdoorsman, often venturing to the Grand Canyon, Zion National Park, the Charleston Peak area and any other place opportunity allowed.
After the Hitter family relocated to Las Vegas, NV, Brad attended Ed W. Clark High School and graduated with the class of 1972. Soon after graduation Brad enlisted with the United States Air Force where he served six years, as an Avionic Communication Specialist. After his honorable discharge from the USAF, he made his life in Altus, OK where he worked primarily as an Auto and Diesel Mechanic for various employers and from his home.
Brad married Marcia (McFarland) in 1980 at a beautiful wedding ceremony in Elk City, OK and in 1983 they purchased their Altus home, where he lived until his death. He welcomed the birth of his daughter, Serenna Nicole, in 1985. In 1989, Brad enlisted in the Oklahoma Army National Guard and proudly served in Operation Desert Storm. Following his second honorable discharge from the military, Brad was employed as a Laser Technician at a nearby manufacturing facility and continued to work as a Mechanic from his home.
Brad had many friends and was known to the community as a man who “could fix anything” and enjoyed helping others. He loved to play practical jokes and had a unique sense of humor. His distinctive personality and remarkable intellect will leave a lasting memory to those who knew him.
Bradley was preceded in death by his father, John George Hitter. Brad is survived by his mother, Mary Jane (Chisholm) Hitter, of Las Vegas, NV; daughter Serenna Nicole Hitter and her partner J.
